The open interregional folk art festival "Nikolskaya Winter Fair in Nyuksen" has been held annually since 2016 and attracts a large number of interested people of all ages. It is timed to the New Year celebrations and is dedicated to the ancient custom of holding New Year and Christmas winter fairs-torzhki on the territory of the Nyuksen district of the Vologda region. It is held on dates close to the memorial day of St. Nicholas the Winter Saint of Myra. Due to quarantine measures, the festival expanded its scope and had the experience of holding an event in an online format, which attracted more participants, visitors to communities and a website on the Internet. At the moment it has an online and offline format. The event includes exhibitions of works of traditional and modern decorative, applied and fine arts, skill contests in crafts, chefs-cooks - lovers of traditional environmentally friendly food, merchants-dealers in souvenirs; organization and holding of a musical vocal and instrumental lounge and a concert program dedicated to the closing of the Year of Cultural Heritage of the Regions of Russia "Folk Traditions live here"; organization of interactive New Year's playgrounds for children and adults, master classes in folk crafts and crafts, decorative and applied creativity and fine arts.
