The Chum Festival is an authentic holiday that takes place annually on the first Sunday of December in the city of Langepas.
The concert program of the event will feature folk Khanty songs, and amateur groups will perform ritual dances. One of the key events of the holiday is the setting up of the chum.
Children will be invited to participate in a game program - jumping over «sleighs», crossing «a swamp on hummocks», catching a «deer» with a tynzyan (lasso), and others. Those who wish can touch the treasure trove of Khanty riddles.
At the folk craft fair, everyone will be able to purchase a handmade toy, decoration or amulet made from various materials with a national ornament.
As for traditional cuisine, guests will be offered the most traditional northern dish - fish soup from assorted fish, herbal tea. A pleasant surprise will be the traditional bread «nyan», prepared in front of the audience in a bread oven.
