The traditional holiday of the indigenous peoples of the North gathers families from the most remote territories of the district. Over the long history of the events, the traditions of the holiday have developed, giving it unique features and vivid flavor.

For reindeer herders, this holiday is the best chance to demonstrate their capabilities and achievements, and for the guests of the event to see all the richness of the traditional culture of the northern peoples.

Competitions in national sports are held in the open air: national wrestling, tug of war, sled jumping, triple national jump, throwing tynzyan (lariat) on a horey (wooden pole). One of the most spectacular events of the holiday is the reindeer sledding race.

The cultural program of the holiday is of no less interest. The indigenous people conduct excursions in their chums, where they talk about the peculiarities of their way of life and lifestyle, and offer to taste their national dishes.

On this day, a trade fair opens for the guests of the holiday, where Khanty craftsmen offer rich gifts of the northern region: venison, fish, berries and souvenirs.
