Festival Idea: Reenactment of the Conquest of Siberia in XVI – XVIII centuries and foundation of the first Russian settlements in the Western Siberia (Tobolsk, Beryozov, Surgut, Mangazeya) – the Russian colonization outposts for the lands beyond the Ural Mountains. The festival has been successfully held for several years (2007, 2008, 2011, 2014, 2017, 2019) and has no analogues in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District. The event promotes the ideas of cultural identity of the city of Surgut and the region.
Tournament fights between participants of historical reconstruction clubs, theatrical performance, competition of historical costume, fair of handicrafts and Siberian furs, authentic cuisine, master classes using ancient technologies of various types of crafts, ethnic music.
Guest bands performing medieval folk – «Drolls», «Stary Olsa», «Gilead», «Northern Legends». They perform folk ballads, military songs, European popular melodies of the Middle Ages and Renaissance.
The festival creates conditions for the development of creative contacts, the exchange of experience. Visitors to the festival were foreign delegations and official guests of the city.
