The International Freestyle Wrestling Tournament for the V.N. Semenov Cup in the Poykovsky is a major and significant event in the world of sports that annually brings together wrestlers from Russia and the countries of near and far abroad. The history of the tournament dates back to May 2003. The competition quickly gained popularity and thanks to the high level of organization received deserved international recognition. In different years, titled athletes, honored coaches, and highly qualified referees came to the Nefteyugansk region. The purpose of the tournament is to promote a healthy lifestyle, develop and strengthen friendly ties between athletes of different countries, exchange experience and knowledge between coaches, as well as identify the strongest wrestlers in different weight categories. Athletes from many countries take part in the tournament, including Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and other countries. The competitions follow the rules of freestyle wrestling, and participants compete for the title of the best in their weight category. The tournament includes both individual and team competitions, as well as master classes by Olympic champions for young.
