The people's love for artistic crafts is like a mother's love: a selfless, kind and bright feeling, because it is from generation to generation, from father to son, from mother to daughter, that mastery and a sense of pride in the Russian rich and unique cultural heritage are transmitted.
And for the past 18 years, the city of Semenov has once again confirmed this, attracting guests from all over Russia and from abroad.
Since March 2004, the city of Semenov in the Nizhny Novgorod region has been officially considered the capital of artistic crafts. A noisy, colorful folk art craft festival is the pride of the townspeople. Therefore, the festival is always held on a special scale, fun and bright. During the festival, the central city square is being turned into a huge stage for concerts and exhibitions of creative works.
The Golden Khokhloma art program includes performances by pop performers, song and dance ensembles, costume shows, master classes in artistic woodcarving and painting. Also, each guest of the festival has the opportunity to purchase the works of craftsmen. Every year the festival surprises everyone with its original symbol. So, the symbol of the very first Golden Khokhloma festival was a huge wooden spoon measuring 265 cm. The symbol of the second festival is the bratina, whose diameter exceeded 2 meters. And at one of these festivals, the guests had the opportunity to see a unique super-matryoshka doll. The Golden Khokhloma Festival is a demonstration of achievements in the field of artistic craft. Its main task is to preserve and accumulate the folk tradition of arts and crafts, to create a space for cultural exchange between the regions of Russia and foreign countries.
Each festival has its own unique symbol, which has already become a good tradition, because it is a grandiose celebration of creativity and art, gathering hundreds of bright, interesting, talented people.
Thanks to the festival, Semenov got his middle name-the capital of the Golden Khokhloma.
