On the third Saturday of April, the Museum of the World Ocean in Kaliningrad celebrates "Herring Day". In 2005, the museum staff came up with this original, fun festival that has become very popular among locals and visitors.
The celebration includes various entertainment activities. Visitors can taste different dishes made from herring, attend amateur concerts, buy souvenirs, participate in workshops and other events. The museum offers a program for guests of all ages, showcasing the development of fishing industry and ocean discoveries, and presenting fascinating maritime stories.
