For the eleventh time, the Icebreaker Festival will open the summer tourist season in St. Petersburg. This year the event is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
From May 1 to May 4, the icebreakers "Kapitan Nikolaev", "Mudyug" and "Kapitan Plakhin" will be moored at the Lieutenant Schmidt Embankment. Visitors will be able to board the icebreakers with guided tours on May 2-3 (11:00-18:30) and May 4 (11:00-17:00). The highlight of the festival will be the majestic tugboat waltz in the Neva waters on May 3.
The festival program includes creative workshops, interactive "Marine School", "Sea Battle" game, family quest, face painting, dance master classes "Blue Handkerchief", thematic quizzes, author's songs about the sea, icebreakers and Arctic travels.
A special program will take place aboard the museum icebreaker "Krasin" - the only surviving participant of the polar convoys during World War II. The festival will feature illusionists' performances, retro fashion shows, educational lectures and the traditional tugboat waltz water show.
