On Navy Day, the Main Naval Parade traditionally takes place in the waters of the Neva River and the Gulf of Finland near Kronstadt.

More than 30 ships and boats participate, including the newest ones recently commissioned.

On Palace Square, samples of military equipment in service with the Navy are demonstrated. Torches are lit on the Rostral Columns in honor of the holiday. The evening program includes fireworks near the walls of the Peter and Paul Fortress and in Kronstadt.
