On February 14 and 15, the Museum of the World Ocean invites you to the beloved annual festival "Tales of the Old City". It is dedicated to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia and will also be one of the events marking the 250th anniversary of Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann. The festival will take place over two days at several museum sites, uniting the pages of fairy tales at the King's and Friedrichsburg Gates, the Historical Fleet Embankment, and the Marine Exhibition Center in Svetlogorsk.
Each site offers a unique program with literary readings, interactive tours, and themed master classes. Under the vaults of the Friedrichsburg Gates, visitors will hear fairy tales of the peoples of Russia read by representatives of Bashkir Tatars, Buryats, Chuvash, and Yakuts. At the King's Gates, events dedicated to the anniversary of E.T.A. Hoffmann will take place: a tea party with the cat Murr and a reading of "The Tale of the Royal Sausage". The events on the historical fleet vessels of the Museum of the World Ocean will also amaze with their diversity: on the R/V "Vityaz", Russian folk tales will be heard; on the SRT-129 – about fishermen and fish; on the "Irben" – about Moomin trolls and a lighthouse. And at the educational center "OCEANiYa", a "Fairytale Concert" will be held.
The second day of the festival will take place at the Marine Exhibition Center, where guests can enjoy interactive tours with a cartoon screening based on a folk Indonesian fairy tale.
