The exhibition "Where the Motherland Begins" is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the formation of the Kaliningrad Region.
The exposition will feature more than 300 exhibits from the funds of the Kaliningrad Regional Historical and Art Museum, telling about the history of the region through the eyes of artists.
Museum visitors will see not only paintings and graphic works, but also photographs, sculpture, decorative and applied art, as well as sketches and models of products from the first Kaliningrad enterprises.
The center of the exposition is the triptych "Settlers" by artist Tamara Vasilyauskene, consisting of the compositions: "Arrival. First Steps into the Unknown", "Spring 1946. The Yard" and "To the Light. Tea Party. Family". A documentary view of the period of formation of the new Soviet city on the ruins of Königsberg (now Kaliningrad) is presented in the photographs of O. Maksimov, a photojournalist and participant of the Great Patriotic War. His works reflect the most vivid shots from the life of the Kaliningrad Region in the post-war period.
Exhibition guests will also see works by M. Pyaskovsky, A. Balabaev, O. Pyanov, S. Gogoryan, B. Bulgakov, V. Kornilov, A. Shevchenko and many others. All of them tell about the complex heroic time of the revival of the region.
