The future admiral was born in the village of Gorodok, twenty kilometers from the Griboedovs' estate. Therefore, it is no coincidence that for the past eight years the territory of the museum-reserve has become a venue for a holiday loved not only by Smolensk residents, but also by guests of the region. Guests of the holiday will be able to plunge into the atmosphere of the 19th century in the main hall of the palace-estate "Khmelita", taking part in the reconstruction of the Empire-style matinee "Ball in the Native Harbor". The key sporting event of the event is the Pavel Nakhimov Cup ship modeling competition every year. Also, according to tradition, the St. Andrew's flag will be raised on the site in front of the museum of the great naval commander.
